Are you the unnoticed entrepreneur?
New book details how fifty entrepreneurs step into the spotlight.
The UnNoticed Entrepreneur is a newly published book by Capstone that provides fifty insights from entrepreneurs on how to get noticed for free. Entrepreneurs from 14 countries share their experiences on a range of topics, including: the importance of authenticity, overcoming fear of public speaking, self-publishing, Amazon advertising, virtual events, photography, AI, video, franchise networks, and customer experiences. This book provides resources and examples of what can be done and inspiration for the business owner frustrated by a lack of brand awareness . Available in print and e-book versions the book will be available for purchase everywhere books and ebooks are sold on February 24, 2023.
The book is aimed at business owners, illustrating how other entrepreneurs are using readily available technology tools coupled with simple approaches to authenticity, content creation, and brand awareness. Shared experiences of success and failure provide the best lessons for entrepreneurs. The contributors are entrepreneurs and experts based across Europe, EMEA, Asia, and North America, showing how common problems are solved differently across the world.
"Fellow unnoticed entrepreneurs will be informed, inspired, and motivated to take action to step into the spotlight they deserve by reading this book," said author Jim James.
The 378-page book is presented in three sections: strategy, tools, and case studies. Covered in the book are twenty topics with examples relating to communicating with potential customers; existing customers; employees; partners; and investors. The entrepreneurs included in the book shared valuable insights on a comprehensive range of topics, including listening, sartorial choices, public speaking, TEDx, authenticity, presentations, self-publishing, Amazon advertising, virtual events, photography, AI, video, franchise networks, and customer experiences (CX). Each article takes less than ten minutes to read and can be taken in order or as stand alone pieces.
importance of authenticity
In this book, founders talk about a number of different ways that founders can demonstrate their authenticity, including, for example, a year-long photography project, deciding what clothes to wear when and where, and taking the decision when to lie or not. The book also delves into the topics of overcoming the fear of public speaking and what you can do to be a TEDx speaker. They are also articles covering self-publishing, how you can use a ghostwriter, and how to run Amazon ads to promote the book that you didn't write!
Liberating the illiterate
Also central to the topic of public relations is technology and the impact of artificial intelligence. The articles in the book include conversations with entrepreneurs who are developing AI tools for creating and amplifying content, but they also explain the future and the potential brought about by the democratisation of technology for their businesses. There is a whole section dedicated to tools, with 17 chapters covering everything from text to social to video to media monitoring and advertising across franchise networks, all of which are laid out and explained so that the actions can be taken by the reader quickly and efficiently, without recourse to expensive external agencies.
Engaging the enemy
It's important to remember that a business owner has to engage three different audiences: employees, partners, and customers, and they all need to be aligned in order to grow the business. In this book, articles include managing investor relations, how to animate the audience, not the PowerPoint slides, how to engage employees, how to gather content from customers around the world using video, and the concept of the "four villains of listening." Entrepreneurs often face the fear of knowing what to say, when to say it, and how to say it, and this book provides guides and reassurance to even the most tongue tied entrepreneurs.
Not just PR
The difference with this book is that the contributors are entrepreneurs explaining what can be done, not consultants selling what they can do. There are case studies from around the world, including some less-noticed examples like Rolls-Royce using video in Asia, the World Rowing Organization partnering with the World Wildlife Federation, the Indian Film Festival, and the Shangri-La Wine Company. Entrepreneurs around the world are each finding unique solutions to the problems that they face, staking a claim to the market that they want to succeed in. However, there are some common themes in the book that will give a sense of direction to the reader on how to take action immediately.
If there's a lesson from this book, it's that there is an affordable solution for every entrepreneur and that help is at hand. This book provides the resources to find examples of what can be done and inspiration for what the unnoticed entrepreneur can do to get noticed for free. The book includes a directory of all fifty entrepreneurs making it a directory for the unnoticed entrepreneur to find the solutions to step into the spotlight.
The UnNoticed Entrepreneur will be released on February 24, 2023, and will be available in bookstores and online. The book is a companion to the highly rated podcast, "The UnNoticed Entrepreneur," hosted by international entrepreneur Jim James.
